Today we adopted two very cute little kittens from the animal shelter. One is a white male and the other a tabby female. They are about 2 1/2 months old. Very adorable. When I saw them I was immedietly smitten. We will update you on the names.
Congrats on the pet acquistition. I sometimes think having a pet for the kids would be fun. I never had pets so I'm not sure what it all entails. I'm not so excited at the prospect of having another body to take care of and clean up after. From what I have heard and know about cats I think they are less maintance than dogs but what do I really know. They sure are cute and I bet the kids just love them. Ideally we will move somewhere with neighbors that have nice pets and then my kids can vicariously grow up with animals. Then we could take care of the pet while our neighbors are on vacation and give it back about the time we are tired of it. ;)
Brave? Maybe. Ignorant and naive to what I am getting myself into is much more likely. Rebekah, I am totally agreeing on the lack of excitement about another body to care for and clean up after. There is no way I would have done it any earlier than now. I would NOT have been ok with it until I had a almost 10 and 8 year old. They are much more capable of helping out with pet care than a 5 and 3 year old, not to mention soon new born.
